Success Story
Bass Pro Shop, Mesa, AZ
Tucor recently helped a sporting goods store in Mesa, Arizona, save money, time and water during a recent irrigation project. The store's landscape contractor, Landscape Construction Services in Waddell, Arizona, said, "We saved approximately $10,000 just on the install." Here's how the rest of the savings break down:
Less Wire, Less $
A conventional system would have required 150,000' of 14-gauge wire. Tucor's solution required only 5,000' of small-gauge Tucor wire. The overall cost savings on wire alone was $9,900. But the store realized even more savings because they only had to install one two-wire run instead of pulling and identifying 70 different wires.
Fewer Maintenance Costs
Other subcontractors hit the irrigation wire 15 different times throughout the course of the project. Had this been a conventional system, each hit would have cost the store $230 to repair. On the other hand, Tucor's two-wire system only cost $75 per hit, providing an overall saving of $2,325 -- and that's just during the project's construction phase.
Unexpected Savings
In addition, the landscape contractor installed a Tucor controller in the job trailer until power was available via the new store building. This saved the store 45 days of hand watering -- a benefit that you just can't put a price on.
