Success Story
A California Home Uses Tucor For Green Roof

Saving Money While Going GreenAfter the wires of a standard irrigation system were damaged repetitively by gophers, the contractor for a green-roof residence in Sunol, California, changed to a Tucor two-wire system, saving money and upgrading the system to prevent problems in the future.
Smaller Wire, Bigger SavingsBy using the Tucor system, the contractor was able to include a half-inch conduit around the wiring to ensure that it wouldn’t be damaged in the future. Had a conventional been used, much larger conduit would have been required, increasing costs. Also, Tucor’s two-wire cable carries both power and signal to each valve, using one-tenth the power (and energy costs) of a conventional system.
Solving Maintenance HeadachesThe property uses a large water tank to hold irrigation water, and the Tucor system’s ability to learn and store the flow information allowed the owner to better budget the amount of water used for irrigation. Additionally, the Tucor system prevented the owner from wasting energy by running the pump with no water in the tank and allowed for the installation of a master value and flow sensor, protecting the system from mainline breaks.
Innovative ConvenienceWith Tucor’s Cycle Manager remote software, the property owner can check, adjust and operate valves from anywhere in the world and installation is much easier and faster than a conventional system. The ease of adding valves means the owner can extend the system at any time, without worrying about running extra wires.
